Training Programme Highlights the Power of Opportunity
Our recent CSCS course brought together six learners from across multiple projects and partners —including Transform, Southwark Works, Divert, and Beating Time—and created not just an engaging learning experience, but a few moments that will stay with us for a long time.
Led by the exceptional Colt, the course delivered far more than just qualification prep. His ability to communicate clearly, connect with learners, and create a safe, inclusive environment meant that every participant felt heard and supported. Despite the heatwave, the group came together as a focused, collaborative unit—engaged, motivated, and encouraging of one another.
One learner made a particularly strong impression. With a long-standing ADHD diagnosis and currently being assessed for dyslexia, structured: learning environments haven’t always been accessible for him. But this time was different. He left the course confident in his performance, smiling ear to ear, and even described the experience as enjoyable—an enormous personal win and a testament to Colt’s approach.
A memorable moment came when a learner who worked with us at HMP Isis noticed a piece of artwork displayed on the office wall. “That’s my artwork,” he said filled with pride. Created during a previous course and shared by tutor John , the artwork had been proudly displayed at the Bounce Back Head Office in Kennington as a tribute to learner creativity. Seeing his work honoured in this way filled him with visible pride. We captured the moment with a photo—and he even signed it, adding a positive message about life being better outside of prison, inspiring hope in others for a future beyond the criminal justice system.
It’s moments like these—where confidence is built, voices are heard, and achievements are recognised—that define the true value of our work. We look forward to many more.
