Opening Doors to Opportunity- Bounce Back Visits One Liverpool Street

At Bounce Back, we are committed to supporting individuals who have been involved in the justice system or are at risk of offending, helping them to rebuild their lives and unlock new opportunities. Recently, we had the privilege of participating in an impactful Open Doors site visit at One Liverpool Street, a development led by Mace, with support from Campbell Rowe.

Joined by 15 of our clients and staff members, the visit offered an invaluable opportunity to explore the construction industry from the inside. Participants were given a behind-the-scenes look at one of London’s major development projects, showcasing the wide range of roles, skills, and career pathways available in the sector.

The purpose of the visit was to open our eyes to the real and varied opportunities that exist within construction—an industry that not only builds cities but also rebuilds lives. As we walked through the site, spoke with professionals, and observed the many trades at work, it became clear how accessible and rewarding a career in construction can be.

One of the most powerful moments of the day came from hearing the story of a former DIVERT London participant who joined a similar visit just last year. Inspired by what he saw, he began training in bricklaying and is now completing his NVQ with RI Works—on the very same site he once visited as a newcomer. His journey is a powerful reminder that change is possible, and that with the right guidance and opportunity, individuals can move from uncertainty to success.

Events like this are a cornerstone of what we do at Bounce Back. They not only provide practical insight into new industries but also ignite a sense of hope and ambition among our participants. Seeing someone who has walked a similar path succeed makes the goal feel more tangible—and more achievable.

We are immensely grateful to our partners at Mace and Campbell Rowe for their continued support and for opening their doors to us. Together, we are showing that construction is more than a career path—it’s a foundation for transformation.
