Celebrating Volunteer Week

As we mark Volunteer Week (3–9 June), we’re celebrating the incredible impact volunteers have on our work at Bounce Back.

This week, we’re proud to welcome and recognise three new volunteers who have joined our criminal justice employment project, Transform, and have already made an immediate, meaningful contribution.

“Volunteering with Bounce Back has been really rewarding. The support I’ve gotten has helped me build my skills and confidence. It’s amazing to see how I could make a difference in others’ lives, and I’ve grown in ways I didn’t expect. Knowing I’m part of something meaningful gives me a real sense of fulfilment and purpose.” – New Volunteer

They understand that our mission goes far beyond employment — it’s about building trust, wellbeing, and long-term reintegration for individuals who are often navigating complex challenges after release from prison.

Their contributions have been nothing short of transformative:

  • Helping new referrals feel welcomed and supported from the outset
  • Providing regular, compassionate check-ins with existing participants
  • Conducting vital research to strengthen our wraparound services and connect participants to broader networks of care and opportunity

“Our amazing volunteers have truly been stars, bringing kindness and warmth to every interaction. Thanks to their extra support, we’ve been able to create even more spaces where people feel safe, heard, and supported. We’re so grateful for everything our Bounce Back volunteers have done—and continue to do—for our participants.”

– Tracy Piercy, Employment and Support Coach

This Volunteer Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to these three inspiring individuals — and to every volunteer who gives their time and heart to our mission. You are a vital part of the journey, and your impact is felt every day.
