Pathways to Employment Project

Our teams in both Southwark and Tower Hamlets are dedicated to providing Pathways to Employment for individuals with a history of substance use, which may be hindering their ability to achieve long-term training and employment goals.

We adopt a compassionate, person-centred approach that empowers individuals to unlock their full potential and find the right opportunities based on their skills and aspirations. By combining local knowledge with specialist expertise and strong partnerships, we ensure every client receives tailored pre-employment support. This includes, but is not limited to, CV design and reviews, job search assistance, interview preparation, and access to right-to-work documents.

Our Pathways to Employment teams collaborate with employers and training providers across all sectors, ensuring that every client has the opportunity to explore a wide range of career paths.

We also provide ongoing support to help our clients stay on target to achieve their goals. This includes signposting and referrals for additional services such as welfare advice, housing support, and more. Importantly, once our clients achieve their employment or training goals, we continue to offer support in Education, Training, and Employment (ETE), helping them to sustain their progress and navigate the next steps in their careers.

The Southwark team is proud to be a delivery partner within the Southwark Works network, enabling us to reach many more residents in the borough. We work closely with six other specialist partners, leveraging their expertise to deliver a wider range of services. Bounce Back operates alongside these partners, including the Southwark Works Hub and Change Grow Live’s Drugs & Alcohol services office, to deliver seamless support to our clients.

Career Path+

Career Path+ is delivered in the borough of Southwark and is designed to support individuals aged 16+ who are eager to unlock career opportunities within the Drugs & Alcohol sector. This project provides a unique opportunity for those with lived experience who want to use their knowledge to support others on their road to recovery, as well as for those with no relevant experience who are looking to start a new career and change people’s lives.

Regardless of their starting point, participants who join Career Path+ will benefit from one-to-one support from a Career & Development Coach, who will assist with setting goals and unlocking training that aligns with the participant’s professional ambitions. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Bitesize online learning, including digital skills and health & social care modules
  • Supported access to fully funded Level 1 & 2 courses
  • City & Guilds Assurance, which recognises and validates learning achievements
  • Volunteer placements to provide sector-based experience

Career Path+ is available exclusively to residents of Southwark, but Bounce Back is open to exploring partnerships to deliver the project in other London boroughs.
